Our Training Program
In collaboration with Munster Technological University, we provide migrant women with access to accredited, high-quality catering education that builds confidence and opens doors to employment.
Many migrant women arrive in Ireland with rich culinary skills, knowledge, and creativity, but without the formal qualifications recognised in the Irish labour market. Our training bridges that gap, helping women turn talent they already have into a recognised qualification and a real route into work.
We offer two pathways, so women can join at the level that's right for them.
Certificate in Culinary Skills — with MTU
In partnership with Munster Technological University, this is a one-year accredited course in professional cookery.
- Accredited by Munster Technological University
- Part-time: 4 mornings a week over one year
- Hands-on kitchen experience alongside essential training in food hygiene, health and safety, customer service, teamwork, and business skills
- 40 hours of professional work experiance
- New courses begin every January and September
The course takes place in a supportive and inclusive environment where women can learn, grow, and share their cultural heritage. Through the training, participants not only gain professional qualifications but also build friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Graduates are supported to move directly into paid employment, either within Sanctuary Catering itself or through our network of hospitality and community partners. This ensures that the training leads to real, lasting impact.
Our first cohort of students is currently enrolled and will complete their qualifications in partnership with Munster Technological University. We will begin recruiting for our next cohort in 2026.
